In the United States, cannabidiol is a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act. This means that production, distribution, and possession of CBD is illegal under federal law. Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2013 – Amends the Controlled Substances Act to exclude industrial hemp from the definition of “marihuana.” Defines “industrial hemp” to mean the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-nine tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis. For the record, for all the super sensitive people out there, I want to comment that CBD oil CAN get you high. NO REALLY. It can. And I’m talking about Elixinol. the recommended brand here, not some random adulterated stuff, not some high cbd marijuana, actual purified, tested, industrial hemp oil. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and experienced with my own body all the same effects from Elixinol, that I have gotten from eating a weed cookie (less intense, but still unpleasant). For me these side effects include full body convulsions and tremors lasting over an hour, anxiety and panic, disturbing disassociative and repetitive/confusing thought patterns, cottonmouth, and intense emotions and weeping. This was from 90mg CBD content at once. Which is more than recommended on the bottle but still well within the realm of a reasonable dose. Like an edible the effects took many hours to kick in, and then the high came on fast. I am also largely intolerant of caffeine and alcohol. However I never have any noticeable effects from most vitamins and herbal products. Not against CBD. Just saying it is possible, even if no one believes you.
One way I do get the benefits of CBD regularly is a teaspoon of this hemp-infused honey in my tea at night. It helps me wind down and get to sleep (and it’s not just my imagination… it has a whopping 20 milligrams of hemp oil and its relaxing effects in one teaspoon). Issues arising in any of the mentioned mechanisms is corrected by this system so as to maintain the body's normal physiology. Cannabidiol tends to interact with the endocannabinoid receptors, and instead of binding to them like THC, it stimulates them. By doing so, it enhances the functioning of this regulatory complex. Cannabidiol's action on endocannabinoid receptors corrects several medical issues that may arise with its malfunctioning, such as, stress, fear, anxiety, etc.
There are numerous CBD tincture products to choose from, with different flavors and CBD strengths, and all of them are very easy to use. Tinctures trump all other types of CBD products in terms of serving size precision, as you can easily increase or decrease your serving size by the drop (tinctures typically come with a precise dropper or a spray).
Liquid CBD Oil/Tinctures/Extracts: Drops or tinctures should have a “suggested serving size” and the total milligrams of CBD listed on their packaging. From there, you can determine the amount of CBD you would like to ingest. Simply place the correct quantity of drops under your tongue using the dropper and hold the CBD oil in place for a minimum of 60 seconds. The 60 second hold allows for absorption via the blood vessels underneath your tongue – efficiently bypassing first-pass metabolism. Once 60 seconds has passed, swallow the CBD oil.
