Hemp oil — obtained by pressing benefit-rich hemp seeds — is slightly different than cannabis oil, although they both come from the same genus, cannabis, and the same species, cannabis sativa. The term hemp is used to describe a cannabis sativa plant that contains only trace amounts of THC. Hemp is a high-growing plant that’s commonly grown for industrial uses, such as oils and topical ointments, as well as fiber for clothing, construction, paper and more.
Scientific studies have established that synthetic, single-molecule hemp-oils have a very narrow window of efficacy and requires great precision to achieve that efficacy, whereas lower concentration, whole-plant, full-spectrum, phyto-nutrient rich nutritional supplement regimens are already showing efficacy for many. Full-spectrum compounds interact collectively and enhance their therapeutic benefits. Scientists call this the “entourage effect.” Numerous hemp compounds have medicinal attributes, but the therapeutic impact of whole plant hemp is greater than the sum of its parts.
In 23 states and the District of Columbia cannabis is legal for some medical uses, and a majority of Americans favor legalization for recreational use. Other countries are rethinking their relationship to pot too. Uruguay has voted to legalize it. Portugal has decriminalized it. Israel, Canada, and the Netherlands have medical marijuana programs, and in recent years numerous countries have liberalized possession laws.

Stephanie, generally, I have patients take 20 to 150mg a day for sleep +/- anxiety. Start low and go slow. Know the dosages of your product. Usually 2/3 to 3/4 of the daily dose is 1-2 hours before bedtime, and the other portion is upon waking (to improve wakefulness during the day). Other factors such as stress, hormone replacement, other meds & medical conditions, etc. play a role along with individual differences. I own a compounding pharmacy, so we see a lot of unique needs. I can't give more specific advice in this forum, but there is help!
